Spencer Burke hails from the sunny climes of southern California, but enjoys nothing more than traveling the world, learning the contours, customs, and libations of each place he comes to. He graduated from Harvard last year with an honors degree in history. He was awarded the John G. Owens Fellowship in Mesoamerican Archaeology from Harvard’s Peabody Museum for 2011-2012, where he is expanding his thesis—about the exploits of archaeologists in 19th century Mexico—into a book. He is currently pursuing his childhood dream (of being Indiana Jones), working on excavations at Copán in Honduras. He can be reached at sdylanburke(at)gmail.com.
